Elevation Partners’ investor Roger McNamee is a long-haired, Silicon Valley rocker, a world away from the aesthetic and investing ethos of the straitlaced Oracle of Omaha, Warren Buffett. But when it comes to providing a vote of confidence in companies, McNamee is hoping the Elevation Partners name will prove to have similar clout as that of Berkshire Hathaway, at least in one situation.
