Columbus (OH) – IBM is suing Shentech for selling counterfeit laptop batteries that have caught on fire.  A Thinkpad user bought what he thought was a legitimate IBM battery from Shentech, but the battery ignited and destroyed his laptop.  IBM then ordered 12 batteries from Shentech and found that all the batteries were sported fake logos and were counterfeit.

IBM is seeking $1 million in damages for each fake battery sold.
