Google expanded its search market share in October, while all of its competitors lost ground. Market research firm Comscore estimates Google’s October core search market share at 58.5%, up from 57.0% in September.

Yahoo maintained its #2 position but dropped 0.8 points to 22.9% and Microsoft lost 0.6 points to 9.7%. Ask.com remained at an estimated share of 4.7% and Time Warner’s sites (which include AOL) declined 0.1 points to 4.2%, according to Comscore.
