San Diego (CA) - ZD Net is reporting that Sony and Kyocera have been forced into shutting down their local operations due to the wildfires which are raging in southern California. Sony closed both a headquarters office and small assembly facility on Monday, employing a total of 2,000 people. Kyocera has closed a chip packaging plant in San Diego, one employing 500 people. The wildfires continue to rage across southern California. Several multi-million dollar homes have already been consumed. At least one of the several fires is believed to be attributed to arson.
