Axl Rose sues Activision for $20 million

Ah, the perils of rock n’ roll decadence! Yes, Guns N' Roses vocalist Axl Rose - who seems pretty tied up - has told Activision to get in the friggin' ring for a $20 million lawsuit.

According to Gamasutra, Axl is fuming over the company’s unauthorized use of the song "Welcome to the Jungle" in association with former band member Saul "Slash" Hudson and his new band Velvet Revolver.

"[Activision] began spinning a web of lies and deception to conceal its true intentions to not only feature Slash and [Velvet Revolver] prominently in GHIII, but also promote the game by emphasizing and reinforcing an association between Slash and Guns N' Roses and the band's song 'Welcome to the Jungle,'" read a court document obtained by Radar Online and quoted by Gamasutra.

Rose also alleged that Activision's use of Slash's top-hatted image in promotion of the game - including its display on the title’s box art - was in clear violation of his [rather draconian] licensing terms.
