Industry giants sued over memory patent

  • A company is alleging that a long list of internationally known companies are breaching a patent it owns over memory access.

    Ring Technology Enterprises started an action in the Eastern District of Texas, Marshall Division against A-Data, Elpida, Hewlett Packard, Hitachi, Micron, Nanya, Samsung, Smart Modular Technologies, Sanmina, Dell, IBM, Sun Microsystems, and Kingston Technology.

    Ring alleges that the above companies and their subsidiaries have breached US patent number 6,879,526 - Methods and Apparatus for Improved Memory Access. The patent was issued on April 12, 2005.

    Ring is demanding a jury trial that will award it its fees for lawyers and damages for the alleged breach of its patent.
