Samsung, Sprint sued over wireless navigation system

  • Samsung and Sprint received a writ from a man called Alfred B. Levine alleging they breached patents he registered in 2001 and 2000.

Levine filed the case in the Eastern District of Texas, Marshall Division, and is seeking a jury trial to obtain damages for the patent he claims the two companies have breached.

The patent, US 6,243,030 and called Electronic Wireless Navigation System was granted on June 5, 2001. Patent 6,140,943 was granted on October 31, 2000.

Levine said that he'd previously notified the defendants that they were breaching his patents, but despite this Sprint and Samsung continued to infringe.
