Chicago (IL) - At 5:34am this morning, TG Daily (Tech Gen Daily) got a new look. While all existing content and site features remain the same in functionality, we wanted to draw your attention to some newly added features which may enhance the experience.
Slideshows
In the upper-right-hand corner is a new Slideshows link. This will take you to our list of available slideshows which is becoming quite extensive. Some relate to new products, others to news events, and some of them illustrate achievements - such as NASA's Success Story - Twin Mars Rovers Turn Five on Mars. This portion of our site will continue to grow as we've found Slideshows are very popular with our readers.
Sticky articles
Three new sticky articles will appear in the middle. Right now they are Windows 7 beta UAC completely vulnerable to malware, Report: Mobile phone sales slowing significantly and Mostly harmless Obama worm surfaces. They will change from time to time, but are designed to bring focus to important or popular articles.
Expanding links
Along the right you'll find Most Popular and Latest News links. Designed to utilize browser space more efficiently, mousing over each header expands that section. And for those who don't know of this feature, the Latest News link shows a 7-day overview of TG Daily news and features reaching back into the week before last. It's a quick way to see the week's news in a snapshot form - don't forget to bookmark it.
Science Menu
There are also three new categories added to Tech Gen Daily. In the past, we had a single category called Trendwatch, which would serve as the place for all articles following trends in several different industries. Beginning today a new Science menu option appears at the top where Trendwatch used to appear. On that menu, in addition to Trendwatch, we now add Sustainability, General Sciences and Space. These should help us break out subjects of interest a little better for you, our readers.
Your thoughts
We'd like to know what you think. Please, feel free to leave your comments below. And welcome to the new Tech Gen Daily website!
