Texas software pirate gets 41 months

Chicago (IL) - A 24-year old Texan was sentenced to prison for 41 months yesterday after being convicted of selling counterfeit computer software over the Internet. Timothy Kyle Dunaway, of Wichita Falls, pleaded guilty in October, 2008 to one count of criminal copyright infringement after selling pirated business software online totaling nearly $1 million.





He will have to continue with probation for two years after being released, as well as pay $810,257 in restitution. He also had to forfeit a Ferrari 348 TB sports car and a Rolex watch. The pirated business software was sold between July, 2004 and May, 2008.
