Government urged to act quickly on Taiwan DRAM rescue

The Taiwan government should quickly hammer out a rescue plan for the local DRAM industry, which plays a crucial strategic role in Taiwan's overall industrial development, DRAM makers Powerchip Semiconductor Corporation (PSC) and ProMOS Technologies have urged. According to PSC chairman Frank Huang, a government rescue of the Taiwan DRAM industry can only be effective if the implementation kicks off before the arrival of the Lunar New Year holidays next month.
