NAND flash output to shrink in 2009 on weakening demand

NAND flash output is likely to shrink in 2009, as more orders for high-end consumer electronics devices have been withhed or cancelled indefinitely, according to sources at Taiwan's memory module makers. In addition to weakening demand for NAND chips, a heavy slump in prices has prompted NAND chip vendors to cut back production, indicated the sources.
