FCC approves Sprint’s WiMax deal

Sprint Nextel and Clearwire can combine their wireless broadband businesses to form a $14.5 billion wireless communications company, the Federal Communications Commission said Tuesday. The FCC voted 5-0 in favor of the transaction, saying it offers consumers more choices and extended broadband access.
