Lite-On IT originally planned to begin volume production of 6x Blu-ray Disc (BD) Combo drives in the third quarter of 2008 but has decided to postpone the start until November, according to the company. The delay is because global demand for BD drives has been short of original expectations and PC vendors have asked Lite-On IT to cut its ODM/OEM quotes for 6x BD Combo drives, the company pointed out.
