Contract quotes of 4 Gb and 8 Gb NAND flash chips for October have stabilized as Samsung has reportedly begun to reduce its supply to the spot market in preparation for orders from major customers, according to industry watchers in Taiwan. The observers noted that Samsung also plans to gradually phase out part of its 8-inch fabs by the end of this year as part of its migration to the 40nm node.
