Will Poole to leave Microsoft for Ncomputing

Will Poole, corporate vice president of Microsoft’s Unlimited Potential Group, will be leaving the company at the end of this month and join cloud-computing firm as co-chairman and member of the board of directors. Ncomputing said that Poole will be serving as a “global ambassador for NComputing in developing countries and support expansion efforts in new markets and geographies.”

Poole joined Microsoft in 1996 through the acquisition of eShop, a company he co-founded in 1991 and ran as president and chief operating officer. Prior to eShop, Poole spent five years at Sun Microsystems, working in senior marketing and engineering management roles. At Microsoft, Poole led various business development efforts, ran the Windows Digital Media Division for three years, and in 2003 assumed leadership of the Windows Client Business. For the past two years, Poole co-led Microsoft’s Unlimited Potential Group.
