NAND flash makers extend their presence to USB memory drives

Sluggish NAND flash demand and demand from OEM customers has prompted chipmakers to extend their presences beyond chip production. Among major NAND flash makers, Intel, Micron Technology and Samsung Electronics are said to be tapping both the memory card and USB drive markets, according to industry sources.
