HP tops MEMS market in 2007

Hewlett Packard (HP) was the top MEMS manufacturer in 2007, with related sales of more than US$850 million, thanks to its inkjet printhead products based on its Scalable Printing Technology, according to a recent report from Yole Developpement. Yole indicated that HP supplanted Texas Instruments (TI) as the top player in the MEMS market, as TI's DLP RPTV sales were not as good as expected last year amid increased competition from the LCD sector in the flat panel TV market.
